My name is Julie, and I live in London with my husband, David, and our two lovely daughters. We’re an outdoorsy bunch, always looking for any excuse to get outside and enjoy nature. I really cherish quality time with my family—it’s the little moments together that mean the most.

Squishy Squid was born back in 2020, during those challenging COVID times when my older daughter was constantly at home due to frequent nursery closures. At the time, I was working full-time in finance and trying to keep her entertained while also providing an educational and sensory experience. She was just 2 years old, and we were committed to a zero-screen policy. One of her nursery teachers recommended play dough for sensory play—something I’d never tried before. So, I decided to create a farm-themed play dough kit for her, and she absolutely loved it.

Word spread quickly, and soon friends were asking me to make kits for their children. Before long, their friends were asking too! Suddenly, our home was filled with boxes, and I found myself investing in my first trusty Kitchen Aid mixer. Four years later, we’re now shipping sensory fun across the UK every month. My two daughters are my biggest inspiration, always helping me come up with new play dough kit ideas. I’m incredibly grateful for every single one of my customers—Squishy Squid wouldn’t be where it is today without all of you!
